The rites of the Gnostics during the Early Church era (Common Era) would also be considered Thaumaturgy insofar that it was seen as forcing the hands of the Aeons to work their spheres of control, so that a Son of Seth (one born with the divine spark) could ascend more readily and with fewer (if any) reincarnations, to escape the realm of the Demiurge (evil workman-god) and return to The One, a la those wretched 2nd and 3rd MATRIX films.

Have a good day, I'm off to game! :D
