Coming out on DVD and Blu-Ray next month:
Looks like it could be good. I was a big fan of the first two seasons of the Justice League cartoon, less so when they went to the Justice League: Unlimited format.
This movie is based on a direct-to-video feature that was intended to bridge the gap between the two series but was shelved. It has been reworked to remove references to the television series.

The Evolution of the Superhero Movie Graph
I must say that I was once a big comic book fan and am still intrigued by the concept of superheroes. I must also say that none of the comic book adaptations to film have really re-charged my power ring, if you know what I mean. There are a few that I don’t mind, of course. I’ve been horribly disappointed by the new Batman films, though it looks like they tried to bottle what it is I’m looking for.
The Watchmen movie was pretty good, though I’m not a big enough fan of the original to comment on whether or not it was a good adaptation.
FWIW, I think the film that best captures the comic book vibe is “The Matrix.” I’ve said since I first saw it that it is “a comic book on film.” And, taken as such, it’s immensely enjoyable.

My daughter gave me the heads up on a possibly-interesting new development in the panels of Prince Valiant:
The “Garden of Doom”? Sounds like that should have been an entry in the one-page dungeon contest…

This appears to be the final installment of the dragon story in Prince Valiant. Here’s a highlight of today’s entry:
It’s been a good run, with thirteen posts here on Lord Kilgore and one other week that had no dragon images so I didn’t post about it.
Kilgore’s favorites are this one and this one.

Prince Valiant has the antediluvian horror hot on his tail in pursuit of her egg, but Val hurls it into the sea:

From Hal Foster's PRINCE VALIANT by Gianni and Schultz
One would think this is the end of the arc, but next week’s installment is called “Mother and Child”, so maybe we’ve got more giant monitor lizard to come.
Don’t even try pretending to be disappointed.

Val makes a run for it with the giant lizard's egg - From Hal Foster's PRINCE VALIANT by Gianni and Schultz
We appear to be nearing the end of this arc. In the final panel, though, Prince Valiant stops at a cliff overlooking the sea and asks the giant lizard how much she wants the egg. If he tosses the egg AND IT BREAKS aren’t we likely to see a rampage ten times worse than that already visited upon Camelot?
I hope so.

No images of the dragon last week, but we saw Gawain toss the dragon egg down to Val and Val make a run for it. Now mommy is after Val.
And Camelot is a wreck.

Saw it yesterday with the family. Liked it a lot.
I’ve only listened to the audiobook and that was several years back when it first came out, so I can’t really comment on how well the film sticks to the novel, but I found it very entertaining. I think the last two movies have been my personal favorites so far.
