It went down something like this:

ME: “The creature appears to be a giant armadillo with a huge scorpion tail.”

PLAYER: “Um, a what? Are you serious? A ‘giant armadillo with a huge scorpion tail’?”

ME: “The man-at-arms is going into convulsions. The creature is moving in for another attack.”

PLAYER: “A ‘giant armadillo with a huge scorpion tail’?”

ME: “Yeah. A ‘giant armadillo with a huge scorpion tail.’ And it looks pretty mean. Are you going to roll for initiative or concede the round?”

Sometimes poison and fun DO mix!
