Got a chance to check out a screening of this upcoming Dreamworks film today:
To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much, but I am happy to report that it wildly exceeded my expectations. It is a Real Good movie.
Now, don’t get me wrong. It is a kids movie. It is not something that contains much of what we would call old-school gaming sensibilities or has anything resembling ties to sword and sorcery. Don’t go in expecting something like that because Kilgore said he liked it.
But I did enjoy it more than Avatar. It’s a real good kids movie and should be entertaining for most parents, too. I nearly didn’t go to the screening but am sure glad I did.
It hits theaters on the 26th.
UPDATE: Duh. It’s “Train” your dragon, not “Tame.”

Also, as long as you’re making corrections, it’s a Dreamworks movie (ala Shrek), not a Pixar film.
Gah. Fixed. What an idiot.
I knew NOTHING about this film going in and obviously learned very little while I was there.
Thanks.
